Since we began, our extraordinary team has been constantly developing capabilities that not only provide value to Far Corner but also help our partners and clients grow. From our direct to consumer roots we have grown consistently to add eCommerce, logistics, wholesale, publishing and technology teams that have the expertise and tools to help address your challenges and exceed your goals.
The name comes from our founder Chris Myers’ early life experience and illustrates his basic philosophy – opportunity is everywhere:
“When I was in high school, I was not one of the ‘in crowd’. At school dances, I would huddle with the rest of the awkward kids in the corner of the gym, unsure of how to take a first step out of the shadows. As I grew older I noticed that, invariably, most of us learned about our individual strengths, often through the help of a close friend or mentor, and have managed to make our way. And, in business, many opportunities can be found in ‘The Far Corner’. With just a little attention to ‘the corners’ and proper support, great businesses will emerge.”
We are out-of-the-box-driven to help organizations craft effective solutions that might lie in the "Far Corners" of their companies mindsets.
CEO
Chris Myers, founded the first of the Far Corner companies, Traders’ Library, in 1991 after creating and ultimately selling a financial software company that developed technology licensed to a Wall Street rating agency. Prior to that, Myers was also the managing partner of a financial data transmission company which was sold in 1995. Since then, he has methodically built an array of profitable businesses that serve their clients and one another with diverse expertise. Myers graduated from Vassar College with an honors degree in world religions and now lives in Maryland with his family. He is active in a variety of charitable organizations serving the needs of his community, including those with developmental disabilities, hospice care, young adults with cancer and victims of domestic violence. He is also active in the mentoring of young entrepreneurs and has completed many endurance bicycle trips that have crossed many parts of the US. Myers has regularly participated in charity events, including an annual 24-hour long ride in which he has repeatedly raised tens of thousands of dollars by riding over 300 miles. In 2008, Myers’ companies were named one of Baltimore’s “Fast 50” companies by Smart CEO magazine.
